Uniflex was a popular British furniture brand that was founded in the early 20th century. The company initially focused on manufacturing traditional, high-quality furniture made from solid wood, but it later shifted its focus to more modern and contemporary designs.

The brand gained popularity in the 1950s and 1960s, when it started to produce furniture with sleek, clean lines and a minimalist aesthetic. The company was particularly known for its use of new materials, such as plywood and metal, which allowed it to create innovative designs that were both stylish and functional.  Uniflex were at the forefront of the mid century modern style.

Uniflex was also known for its collaborations with leading designers of the era, such as Peter Hayward, Gunther Hoffstead and Robin Day, who created a range of iconic chairs for the brand.

By the 1970s, Uniflex had become one of the UK’s leading furniture manufacturers, with a reputation for quality and innovation.

Despite its relatively short lifespan, Uniflex remains an important part of British design history, and its furniture is still highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts today.
