E-Gomme
E-Gomme is a furniture company that was founded in 1898 in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England. The company was originally called The Chair Makers and soon became known for producing high-quality chairs.
In the early 1900s, E-Gomme began to expand its range of products and started producing dining tables, bedroom furniture, and other pieces. The company’s focus on quality and craftsmanship soon made it a popular choice among consumers.
During World War II, E-Gomme was forced to halt production due to the shortage of materials. After the war, the company began to rebuild and introduced a new line of furniture under the brand name G Plan in 1953. The G Plan range included a wide variety of furniture pieces, from living room suites to dining room sets, and was marketed as stylish, affordable, and durable.
G Plan quickly became one of the most popular furniture brands in the UK and was exported to countries around the world. In the 1960s, E-Gomme introduced a new range of furniture under the name Brandon, which was marketed towards younger consumers and featured more contemporary designs.
In the 1970s, E-Gomme merged with several other furniture companies to form the Parker Knoll Group. The G Plan and Brandon brands continued to be produced under the Parker Knoll Group.
Today, the G Plan brand is still well-known and continues to produce furniture in a wide range of styles and designs, including mid-century modern and contemporary pieces. The brand’s commitment to quality and craftsmanship remains a core part of its identity, making it a popular choice among consumers looking for stylish and durable furniture.
