E. Gomme. was a British furniture manufacturer founded in 1898 in High Wycombe, a town famous for furniture making. By the mid-20th century, the company was known for producing high-quality, traditional furniture. However, with changing tastes after World War II and the rise of modernist design, E. Gomme needed to evolve.

In 1953, the company introduced G-Plan, a bold new furniture range that embraced the emerging mid-century modern style. Unlike traditional furniture sets, G-Plan allowed customers to buy individual pieces over time, offering flexibility and affordability. This was a revolutionary concept in British furniture retail and helped G-Plan become one of the most iconic furniture brands of the 20th century.

In excellent refinished vintage condition. Minor scuffing to top of draw which can’t be seen when draw’s closed – please see images for more detail.

A very desirable piece of furniture to add a distinct mid century modern aesthetic to your home.
