Abbess

Abbess was a British furniture brand known for its high-quality mid-century office furniture, especially desks, filing cabinets and storage units. Founded in the early 20th century, Abbess specialised in producing furniture for schools, government offices and commercial environments. They became particularly popular during the mid-20th century when sleek, functional office furniture was in demand.Abbess furniture is known for its robust construction, with pieces made from quality woods like teak and mahogany and often featuring metal components. The designs typically reflect a streamlined aesthetic - simple yet elegant, and built to withstand heavy use, which is why they’re still popular today.Collectors and mid-century enthusiasts appreciate Abbess pieces for their durability and classic look, making them well-suited for both home and office spaces looking to capture that industrial vintage charm.
